THE WEIGHT

He carries that weight,
that great loss he has wrought
upon love and home;
it’s a desert he roams;
a shot of thirst-quenching dew
falls on him now and then.

NORTHERN MOON

Tonight it is orange,
and almost perfectly round,
riding high and proud across
the sky; accompanied by the

TAKING CARE OF ITS OWN

We gathered in the old, sombre hall

she has been at his side
making it a little easier,
talking, touching, trying
to clear the path he is on
so that he doesn’t fall unnecessarily;
he has known his sisters care
his appreciation is spoken
in a single tear.

it is priceless among days.
